Capstan, a post-hardcore band hailing from Orlando, Florida, has released six EPs and three studio albums. Previously signed with Adventure Cat Records, the band is now part of the Fearless Records roster.

Early Years and EPs (2012–2016)
Capstan formed in March 2012. On April 20, 2013, they independently released Growing Deaf, a split EP with the band Priorities, recording their portion at home and mastering it with John Naclerio at NADA Studios. Their second self-released EP, Seasonal Depression, followed on December 2, 2014. On November 15, 2015, they dropped an acoustic EP titled Parting Gifts, recorded and mixed at Torch & Star Studios and mastered at NADA Studios.

The band’s fourth EP, Cultural Divide, released on July 19, 2016, marked a turning point, garnering significant attention, including from Michael Kaminsky of KMGMT, known for managing acts like Neck Deep and Tonight Alive. Kaminsky, who was launching Adventure Cat Records, signed Capstan as one of the label’s first artists. In an interview with Alternative Press, Kaminsky remarked, “Sometimes you hear an act that inspires you to do more. In this case, it was two acts, and we started a record label just to work with them.”

Capstan’s fifth EP, In the Wake of Our Discord, was released on January 12, 2018, through Adventure Cat Records. Produced, engineered, and mixed by Seth Henderson at Always Be Genius Studios in Chicago, it was mastered by Kris Crummett at Interlace Audio in Portland, Oregon. That March, Capstan joined the Owly.FM stage at Vans Warped Tour 2018. Later, they independently released Haunted on June 15, featuring reimagined tracks recorded and mixed by James Paul Wisner at Wisner Productions and mastered by Andy VanDette at Engine Room Audio. In July 2018, Capstan supported Silverstein on their 15th-anniversary tour for When Broken Is Easily Fixed.

Restless Heart, Keep Running (2019)
Capstan’s debut studio album, Restless Heart, Keep Running, was released on September 20, 2019, via Fearless Records. The album was praised for blending post-hardcore, pop punk, and rock elements. Cryptic Rock noted, “Capstan’s debut album works to cement their place in the scene and showcases why they are here to stay. Emotional and revealing, Cryptic Rock gives Restless Heart, Keep Running 4 out of 5 stars.” Following its release, Capstan headlined a North American tour in October 2019, performing across the East Coast, Midwest, and Toronto.

Separate (2021)
On July 23, 2021, Capstan released their sophomore studio album, Separate, through Fearless Records.

The Mosaic (2024)
On May 24, 2024, Capstan unveiled their third studio album, The Mosaic, via Fearless Records.
