Tour Announcement

The 25th anniversary of Disturbed’s The Sickness album is approaching, and the band is gearing up for a special tour to honor the release that launched their career. The first leg of the North American tour will feature support from Three Days Grace and Sevendust, while Daughtry and Nothing More will join for the second leg.

Released on March 7, 2000, through Giant Records in collaboration with Reprise Records, The Sickness initially gained traction slowly. The album’s first single, “Stupify,” steadily climbed the charts, peaking at No. 12 on the Mainstream Rock Chart and No. 10 on Alternative Airplay. However, it was “Down with the Sickness” that became the band’s defining hit. The song, featuring David Draiman’s distinctive “ooh-wah-ah-ah-ah” vocal, captured widespread attention and reached No. 5 on the Mainstream Rock chart and No. 8 on Alternative Airplay. Today, it stands as their signature anthem.

Who is Disturbed?

Disturbed, a heavy metal band from Chicago, was formed in 1994. Its lineup features guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren, vocalist David Draiman, and bassist John Moyer. Founding members Donegan and Wengren have been with the band since the beginning, with Draiman taking over as lead vocalist in 1996, replacing Erich Awalt. Moyer later joined in 2004, filling the role of bassist previously held by Steve “Fuzz” Kmak.

The band’s first album, The Sickness, released in 2000, achieved commercial success, largely thanks to popular singles like “Down with the Sickness” and “Stupify.” They went on to release several more albums that all topped the Billboard 200: Believe (2002), Ten Thousand Fists (2005), Indestructible (2008), and Asylum (2010). In 2011, Disturbed took a break, with its members pursuing side projects during this period. During the hiatus, they also released The Lost Children, a collection of previously unreleased tracks. The band reunited in 2015 and released their sixth album, Immortalized, followed by Evolution in 2018 and Divisive in 2022.

Disturbed has sold more than 17 million albums worldwide and earned six RIAA certifications, including 5× platinum status for The Sickness. Singles from each of their eight albums have reached the top ten on the Mainstream Rock chart, and the band has received two Grammy Award nominations. Alongside bands like Slipknot and Godsmack, Disturbed is regarded as one of the most successful rock acts of the 21st century.
